So to give some background, the Swans posted on Facebook and Twitter encouraging Swans fans to send in their videos with of the Swans song for Volkswagen Caroake.
My crazy mind thought it would be fun to have the kids do it so I thought up some different ideas. The could sit in our car, but that was a bit boring and then I had an idea. I printed off little VW badges to stick onto their cosy coupes, dressed the kids up in their Swans gear and they hopped into their cars. It only took 3 takes for the kids to sing at the right speed and it was just so very cute!!
I said to James that I hoped they would be included on it. As we headed to the game I told him that I think I'd be a bit upset if they weren't included because it was such a cute video. When it started at the game, I couldn't believe that they were first up. I wanted to get a photo of them on the big screen but I was so excited I didn't have my phone out. But the more exciting thing was that they were the whole video! Maybe noone else sent in a video, or they thought the kids were just too cute so included the whole thing. I don't know but it was pretty fun to have them up there.
It was pretty amazing how many people watched the video on Facebook. There were some very kind comments too.
In the lead up to the next game, the Swans again posted saying that they wanted videos of
Volkswagen Caroake but used the kids' video to encourage people to enter.
I'm guessing that noone did enter because the following week the kids were back up on the big screen. It was so cool to see the kids watch themselves on the big screen. They were excited but also were a bit confused about how to respond.
Then just this week they released a video of more recent entries but our kids were still in it! I think part of it is because of the VW logo being on the cars, they still get some advertising each time it's played. Anyway, pretty fun to still have them on the big screen. I pretty cool memory.
