Hair Cut

I am so grateful for my Mum and the way that she is willing to cut my kids' hair. She does a great job of it too! I'm way too scared to even try because it might (probably will) look shocking.

We also love Eliza's hair. We love how long it is. I quite like being able to do it - braids, plaits, ponytails.

This weekend I came home to find James holding a big chunk of Eliza's hair saying he had no idea how it all just fell out. Eliza was saying that same thing. I started to worry it was something serious and of course used Dr Google.

Then Monday I was doing Eliza's hair. She asked for me to do 2 plaits and then put them into 2 buns. Eliza called it possum ears. I did as she asked, and noticed as I brushed her hair that Eliza had quite a fringe.

I looked nice and she wears it well, sweeping it to the side over her ears, but she had a fringe. Then it dawned on me. The clump of hair might have been helped by scissors. I asked Eliza and she said that he didn't cut it. I mentioned my theory to James and he went and spoke with her. She then admitted that she had cut her hair. When James asked why, she said it was because she wanted her hair like Maddie.

I was chatting with her in the afternoon about it and told her that we weren't angry or upset with her, but if she wanted her hair cut she just needed to ask. She said that Daddy said a lot of the same things. She wanted her hair to be cut but not too short because she still wanted it to be styled. I then asked her why she didn't ask us first and why she decided to do it. She told me that she wanted something soft for her toy Otter's bed so she decided to cut her hair and put it in the box. I had to laugh to myself. I told her that it was a very creative idea but maybe next time ask us if we have any ideas of what she could us and to just use scissors on paper.

To be honest I think her hair looks quite nice and she suits the long fringe. But I'm not going to be saying that to her too much because I sure don't want her to be using the scissors on her own hair again!
