When I Grow Up, Book Parade and Spring Fair

This term at school has been a very busy term with things to send in and dressing up. For Open Week we had a 'When I Grow Up' Day. The kids needed to dress up as someone or something they want to be when they grow up.

Daniel chose to dress up as... a racing car driver.
I didn't want him dressed in his racing car costume all day because I didn't want it to get damaged so he went to school dressed as Daddy. Too cute!

Eliza and Alexander wanted to be in a photo too. Poor Eliza had pretty bad conjunctivitis this day so was stuck in the pram at the 'When I grow up' parade at school.
Daniel was very in character at the parade, using his steering wheel to drive around the course. So much so that he didn't even look at me and smile. We will get there eventually.

The following week we then had Book Parade at school. Daniel initially chose to dress as Geronimo Stilton. Really kid? A mouse dressed in a green suit? How will I do that? Just as I was planning on attempting a bit of sewing I asked Daniel who he wanted to go dressed as for the Book Parade. He changed his mind (phew!) to Terry from the Treehouse Story Collection. Excellent! He could just go dressed as a normal person. I asked him once more before I started to plan his costume. He again changed his mind to be Zac Power (again I could do this. Phew). The slight problem, or maybe the positive side of it, is that there aren't any pictures of Zac Power because he is a spy, so there is just a shadow each time he is 'pictured' so I got a little creative. Daniel loved being dressed up as Zac Power!

Daniel did a bit better at the parade. He did look around and smile but this time he said he couldn't see me so I still didn't get a wave. Funny. All good. He had fun at the parade.

This term has been full on with planning and preparing for the Spring Fair. It came and it has been and it was a lot of fun. When we arrived we went straight to the books and toys section. We scored some great books and some fun toys too. We then went to see the competitions. One was the lego competition with the theme 'technology'. Daniel decided to make a robot and wrote a blurb about how it would work.
Eliza was desperate to go and get her face painted so that was our next stop. She decided to get a rainbow painted over her eye.
At the toy store Eliza also found some rabbit ears which she was desperate to have.
Daniel decided to go on a ride instead. He chose to go on the dodgems with Daddy. They had a blast on them!
We then headed to have some lunch, gozleme. Then we headed back home.
Next year we hope to have a bit of a quieter day so we can spend a bit more time at the Spring Fair.
