School Open Day

This term, Daniel's school had their open day, a chance for the parents to go into the classroom to see their kids work and see their classroom. I was really looking forward to going into the classroom to see some of Daniel's work, particularly his writing. James was working from home so was able to come and join us and Daniel was so excited to have both of us there to see his work. He had a little check list for us to go through with him.

1. Show Mum and Dad your work around the classroom.
Daniel quickly raced around the room pointing briefly to his work hanging up around the room. I had to ask him to slow down and actually show me his work and let me have a chance to look at it. I loved reading his 'when I grow up' writing.
Once Daniel had finished showing me around the room Daddy arrived and Daniel showed him around the room too.
Proud of our boy.
2. Read a book with Mum or Dad.
3. Show Mum and Dad your work at your desk.
Daniel had one of his writing pieces on his desk, some phonics work booklet and some number work. It wasn't a lot of work to see which I was a bit disappointed about but it gave a glimpse of their work. I guess it does stop parents looking at other kids' work and comparing where the kids are at.

4. Create Goldilocks and the 3 Bears with Mum and Dad
Daniel put us to work.
I love the concentration tongue
Thanks for having us in your classroom Daniel and thanks for showing us some of your work. We are so proud of you and how far you have come in just 2 and a bit terms! Keep up the good work, keep up enjoying school. Keep up being you. (Maybe just try to focus a slight bit more ;-) )
