Our first upstairs guests

Now with the upstairs finished, we are able to have people come and stay and they get to have their own space which is very exciting. Our first guests that came were Aunty Jen, Maddie and Aly. They came to visit to see us but also to be out of their house while it was getting painted. It was so lovely to have them come and stay with us. The house was filled with a lot of noise, excitement, injuries, laughs, games and memories. We are so happy that we have this space to share with those we love. The set up for people coming to stay worked well too.
They arrived on Monday late afternoon. Poor Aly fell on the stairs and chipped her tooth so that was a bit eventful trying to work out what to do. She eventually settled down (such a brave girl. It would have hurt a lot!) and the night ran smoothly with dinner and bedtimes. Tuesday morning we all took Daniel to school. Maddie and Aly were very curious about his school and how it worked. It was cute to watch their reactions to all the kids and the bells, etc. Jenny then took the girls to a park and to the dentist to check on Aly's teeth while Alexander and I took Eliza to preschool and then to Mainly Music. The afternoon after school was full of chatters, playing and laughs. The kids had fun riding the scooters and driving cars on the paved area and filling up with petrol. It was lovely to see them all playing to well together.

Alexander also managed to sneak in a sandpit play without asking. Sneaky boy.
How you play in the sandpit without asking Mum and not knowing if she will say yes or no
Wednesday morning Daniel woke with conjunctivitis. After cleaning his eyes once and the gunk coming back pretty quickly I decided he wouldn't be going to school. We headed to the chemist to get some eye drops and then came back home. Jenny and I had organised to go to a park. We ummed and ahhed about what to do and decided that we would still go so we headed to the Beecroft park. The kids had a blast on the equipment and Alexander loved watching the trains go past time and time again.

With Daniel being sick I decided that he needed to still do some sort of school work. We made one of his Kiwi Krate boxes - a spy kit. He and Maddie then had fun writing spy messages and being spies.
Eliza wanted to help Aunty Jen in the kitchen.
Again the afternoon was filled with chatters, laughter and playing. Cousins having fun together.

Thursday I couldn't bring myself to go to another park because Daniel's eyes still weren't good so we stayed home. Jenny took the Maddie out to a rock climbing place and she had an absolute blast while Aly stayed home with us! The kids played together and had fun hanging out, dressing up and watched a bit of Frozen.

The afternoon the kids had fun playing outside. They were pretending to find dinosaur bones in the rocks around the new pole in our front yard.
Eliza also had a go on a balance bike and impressed me with trying to lift her feet up.
Saturday Daniel's eyes were a lot better but he was starting to get a cold. Poor guy. We had decided to head to inflatable world in the morning and all kids were still keen to go so that is what we did. They kids had a blast on the activities! They were basically on the go for 2 hours! Running from obstacle courses to slides, to 'cliffs' to jumping castles, to games. It was great.
Maddie and Daniel did the cliff jump.
Alexander, Aly and Eliza each did the slide.
This obstacle course was so fun to watch!
The kids battled each other at times.

And Alexander just loved jumping and jumping and jumping!

The mazes were great too!

So much fun!

Sunday saw more playing together and hanging out.
Daniel introduced Maddie to the game Yatzee and she loved it!
I love that my kids and their cousins get along so well together. Such special times. Family is such a blessing!
