Sparkle wants were a hit!
This was the first time that Alexander sat on his own to do the actions for this song. Normally he sits in my lap and claps on top of my hands, pats my knees, pats my shoulders and pats my head. I did like the one on one time I had with him doing something that he loved.
Jacqueline has done a wonderful job leading Mainly Music each week. I know it hasn't been easy, I know some weeks have been full on and that some weeks she has had to juggle lots of things to be there but she has set it up so well, it almost runs itself. Thanks to Jacqueline, Margaret and Julie who have committed to this ministry each week.
Normally we would head up to the church to perform a couple of songs to end the term infront of the older congregation but that unfortunately wasn't going to work this time. Instead the kids did a little performance for us. Oh my word, Alexander doesn't perform. Ha. He stood there with a blank look on his face for all of the songs. At least he did still shake the bells for Jingle Bells.
The performance was followed by some fruit outside. Definitely a highlight for Alexander each week. This little friendship is one that has formed over this year at Mainly Music. This is Emma. She is around Alexander's age. Her mumma, Anna, has had a baby this year too - Baby Mike. Alexander adores them all. He prays for them at night time. He thanks God for them when we talk about things we are thankful for. He likes to play with Emma, laugh with her, dance with her. Through Mainly Music we have started to meet up other days to keep the friendships growing. I hope that with Mainly Music finishing, we can hopefully keep catching up and keep the friendship going.
The jumping castle was set up for the kids to play on for our Christmas party. Alexander and Emma enjoyed jumping on it at the end without other kids on it.
It was a lovely group of mums and kiddies.
What I love the most about Mainly Music this year is the way that they have taught the kids about God through music. One of the gifts that the kids were given at Easter Time was a book called L-O-V-E Love. It was a song that we sang at Mainly Music some weeks and now Alexander can sit there and sing the song. He hears the words we are saying and they are sewing into his life. I'm sure it is the same for some of the other kiddies too.
