Christmas Eve saw Oscar turn 12! What the? Where has the little baby boy gone and how is he almost a teenager? He is now no longer in primary school, he is still a great cousin for the kids and it is awesome seeing him grow up. I love that he still loves to snuggle with Jens and is always ready to say a one liner like his Dad to make others laugh.
To celebrate Oscar the Howie's had a little family party. Unfortunately Eliza had been sick for a couple of days (negative covid test results) and we didn't want to pass anything onto anyone else so the boys went off to represent our family. They had fun with Oscar's new basketball hoop and with he swing.
Jens kindly came up with the idea of having Eliza and I visit for cake time and staying on the other side of the fence. That was really nice because Eliza was quite upset that she was missing out. We made a sign for a drive by Happy Birthday message!
Then we hopped into the car and headed to Oscar's place.
Eliza was a bit shy with holding up the sign when we got there, but I helped her holding it up and Oscar was excited to see us. We also blew a couple of party poppers (which Eliza almost pulled into her face. We obviously don't use them much for her to know how to make them work properly).
Then it was cake time. We sang Happy Birthday to Oscar and enjoyed his tasty cake. Well done to Jens for making his Volleyball birthday cake.
Eliza was sad that she couldn't play like the others but respected that we needed to stay apart.

We were able to still enjoy cake at home, and Oscar was happy that he got to each the volleyball.
Love this boy. Happy 12th birthday Osc. Last year as a 'kid'
