With the boys in particular being massive fans of cricket, we decided to get tickets for us all to go to the Sydney Sixers game. We arrived a bit early and walked along the front. The kids were stopped and asked if they could have their photo taken waving their flags - sure! They are pretty cute, although don't perform with smiles on cue.
We were able to get free ice cream bars (perfect because it was such a hot day!) thanks to NOVA. They were very refreshing after the walk down.
The kids then had a turn on the jumping castle tower. Daniel went first, then Eliza went on her own and then Daniel was great at helping Alexander on it. Alexander wasn't too sure about jumping down into the ball pit but he did it.
On our way to our seats the kids got their faces painted and we got the kids a Sydney Sixers hat each. Go Sixers!
Our seats were good, just very hot in the sun and the humidity was very high.
We survived the heat but it was a bit much at times. Especially with the kids not understanding personal space. In the heat, all Eliza wanted to do was to be close to me.
Oscar and Auntie Jenny were at the game too over in their special seats in the Steve Waugh room but Oscar came to visit us a few times. The kids loved having him come over.
James got into the Simba Cam moments but unfortunately didn't make it onto the big screen.
When we started batting the humidity went down and it was much nicer. Oscar came back to visit.
Eliza and Alexander wanted to check that their face paint was still on.
Sitting where we were the kids enjoyed watching the cricket but even more enjoyed watching the beach ball being hit around and trying to catch and hit it themselves.
Each of the kids had a turn at hitting the ball into the crowd, even Oscar had a turn at one point.
The Sixers ended up winning which was great and the kids really enjoyed watching the game! Hopefully next year there will be some more afternoon games for us to go and watch with the kids. And hopefully the Sixers win the final this weekend.
