January Happenings

Here's a summary of some events that happened in January.

We had a lovely morning tea with Auntie Shirley, Auntie Megan, Mark, Auntie Julie, Uncle Pete, Kate and Michael. Daniel enjoyed reading jokes from his joke book to everyone and they liked playing in the playground.
The kids have enjoyed dressing up in James and my clothes and walking around the house.
When Eliza and I went out for our girls day, the boys had Oscar and Poppy come around to help work on the wall and dig up the pile of dirt. The kids did an amazing job!! When we got back Eliza wanted to help them out too.
Wheelbarrows
Shovels
Buckets. Hard workers!
It was hard work so Alexander hitched a ride back with Poppy.
Then Oscar wound down by playing on his phone so of course everyone had to crowd around him.

Love Oscar's face "Hurry up and take my photo so I can keep playing".
I took the kids for a ride to Ruddock Park. Alexander did well riding on his own.

He even we being confident riding down the hill.
And his confidence and speed increased as the did it time and time again (and my nerves increased too!).
Alexander helped me make dinner of Spaghetti Bologneise. He did a wonderful job of cooking a lot of it on the stove top (I was too focussed on helping and looking after him that I didn't take any photos until the spaghetti cooking). He did a great job and was very proud of himself.
Measuring the spaghetti
Grating the cheese
Serving

Cheese sprinking
Yum!
Daniel and Alexander organised a little puppet show for us.
The kids played creatively making a car on the couch, traveling places.
At church, the kids spoke about encouraging others and about Jesus. They were encouraged to design posters that were put up at church. Such a great idea!

Daniel headed to Kick Off at church on Tuesday and I took the kids to Storey Park in Hornsby. It is an awesome park with a huge slide. Alexander and Eliza surprised me with how keen they were to climb up to the top of the slide. Alexander did climb up to the top and got nervous about how to finish. I was so proud of Eliza helping him work out how to finish his climb. Once at the top, he wasn't very keen to slide down. Eliza came down first and then called out to Alexander to come down. She was so encouraging to him and he did it, he slid down all on his own. Legend!
Heading up
Spot Alexander. This was where he paused unsure about how to get right up. Eliza was there helping him work it out.
Up they go again
Bounce bounce bounce
It was such an awesome park we headed back there again on Thursday for Mothers' Group. This was Eliza and Emily's last Mothers' Group before heading to school. A little bit of an end of an era for them. They are a gorgeous group of kids who have grown up together.

At home the kids have enjoyed playing board games. Eliza and Alexander were keen to play Junior Monopoly. They started off keen but then got tired. This is apparently how you play a game of Monopoly.

Mummy the pillow mid game.
Eliza wanted to paint some nails. She painted Nana's nails yellow. She had her nails painted yellow. She wanted to paint my nails purple. She does enjoy doing it.
Alexander wanted to play head basketball with me. Such a funny game. He loved it and got so excited when he scored goals.

My view

And now we begin the school and preschool journey again.
