Girly Date

Before Eliza started school I wanted to take her out just her and me for a girly date, just to spend some Mummy Daughter time together. I hope and pray that as we grow up Eliza and I have a relationship where she and I can chat openly. I want to try and do more outings of her and me to continue to grow this relationship and opportunities to sit and chat.

This adventure was a special one. Eliza got to choose what we wore and she put on some stick on earrings.

I love that she walked with me - hand in hand.
Eliza had been desperate to see Frozen 2 so was very excited that we were going.

She loved the movie. There was one moment when she asked if we could leave but instead we just snuggled together and she was ok. She really enjoyed it though. It was nice having her snuggle into me.
We enjoyed eating our shortbread men too.
Then there was a surprise for Eliza. I took her down to the nail place and said surprise. I was expecting a lot of excitement. Instead she said 'huh'. Not quite what I had thought the reaction would be. She said she was excited though.
Eliza chose our colours and then we sat down and waited. My nails were done first and then Eliza's. She wasn't keen to get the full treatment so she just had her nails painted.

Letting them dry
Pretty nails :-)

We then went and had some sushi for lunch. Yum!
And then she had a quick play in the little park.

We then popped into the op shop to see if there was anything there. Eliza saw a denim skirt that she really wanted so I gave her the money to get it. The lady at the register was lovely and looked in a bag next to the desk and pulled out some earrings. She checked Eliza's ears and thought they were pierced. I didn't have the heart to tell her that they weren't so we took them home too. One day she will get them pierced and they will come in handy then (she wishes now!)
So a lovely day was had. Little chats here and there about how she was feeling about starting school and just about different things as well as about the movie. Looking forward to our next adventure.
