Sand Scupltures

On Thursday 18th January the kids and I headed to the sand sculptures with Mum, Dad and Oscar. The theme was Alice in Wonderland. Even though the kids haven't seen or read it, I thought they might still like the different animals and pictures. It was a nice time walking around and seeing the different sculptures, even though the kids looked at each one for a few seconds and then wanted to move on. I was amazed at the detail they managed.

There's the caterpillar

Alice was amazing!

The highlight of the sand sculptures was the giant games. Daniel and I played a game of connect 4.
Mum helped Alexander and Eliza play some dominoes.
Poppy took on Oscar in draughts. Oscar smashed Poppy at the start but then it was a close finish.
Then Daniel, Eliza and Oscar had a round of the longest snakes and ladders game (the kids kept getting caught by the last snake).
Hugs when you were on the same square

The winner was... Oscar!
The kids then wanted to do some sand art. I let the kids choose which one they wanted to do. Oscar chose to do a sand jar.

Daniel chose to do a racing car picture.

Eliza chose a cat (and I'm so grateful for Poppy helping her do it. So many pieces to it. Oops. Lesson learnt. Choose one with fewer pieces).

Alexander enjoyed spreading the coloured sand on the table out and moving it around.
Again, I am very grateful for Nana and Poppy helping with the kids and helping with the pictures.

Alexander was getting fussy at the table so I took him over to the sand sculpture stable. He liked playing with the sand.
Oscar tried to sculpt some things.
And then Daniel joined in too.
Oscar's sculpture was a space ship (from memory)
Daniel made a turtle.
It's quite hard to sculpt!
The sand art looks awesome!
We then headed out to the water play area. The kids were keen to have a play in it so we took off their shorts and shoes and let them go for it. They had a blast! Daniel and Oscar in particular.

My hand can get wet but that is all
The boys loved the water guns

Eliza enjoyed walking around the water

Such a fun day out! So glad that Mum, Dad and Oscar came too. I was lucky enough to take home these 2 cool kids. So lovely listening to Alexander giggle at Oscar.
