Mummy-Daughter High Tea

I wanted to take Eliza out for a Mummy Daughter date before she started preschool to spend some time with her, to chat and to make her feel special. I decided to take her to have High Tea at the Ladybird Cafe in Mt Colah.

We got dressed up, dropped the boys off to Auntie Jenny and Oscar and then headed to the cafe. When we arrived a cute table had been set up for us.

We ordered our sandwiches and our drinks and then Eliza had fun playing with the alphabet computer while we waited.
When the high tea came out Eliza’s eyes lit up. She was so excited to see all the food. Straight away she asked for the cakes. I told her that we start with the sandwiches, then fruit and then finish with the cakes. She didn’t agree. She told me you worked from the bottom up - sandwiches, cakes, fruit. I told her this wasn’t the case.

We had a lovely time sitting, chatting, giggling, listening. It was so nice to just be there with her - she was very chatty and was so sensible. It was nice her being herself, without an audience to try and impress. We spoke about preschool, friends, our family, church, Elsa and Anna, random topics. Anything and everything. We also enjoyed having our tea and babychino.

Eliza liked eating the fruit and trying the different cakes. The food was quite nice - simple but tasty and filling. And the company was perfect.

Eliza had her eyes on a chocolate ‘cuppa-cake’ so she got to enjoy it all to herself.

We shared the other cakes though until she was too full for the chocolate brownie. I took one for the team.
Too full. I'm done
High tea was a lovely send off before starting preschool. I need to make sure that I do more outings with just Eliza and spend more ‘Mummy-Daughter time’ with her. It is precious time and I know it is going to disappear fast.
