Anyway, now that I am starting to feel out of the fog a few weeks ago I was able to look out for a couple of my friends. On the Wednesday I met up with Anna, Emma and Mikey at Beecroft Park. They drove there and Alexander and I caught the train.
After a fun play at the park we headed home. Anna asked if I could take Emma back on the train because she wanted to go on the train. Sure! Emma was more than happy to catch the train back with us. I love that she felt comfortable to come with us. I love that Anna felt comfortable having me take Emma back with us. I don't know that there are many people I'd feel comfortable having Alexander go on the train with. So it really is an honour to be able to have Emma come back with us.
She and Alexander were so very good for me too on the train. They are beautiful little buddies.
Then on the Friday my friend Anne was sick with the flu. Angus was away in India so she had the 3 kids for herself. I saw her on Friday morning at school and she was almost in tears because she felt gross. I said that I'd pick up the kids after Eliza and Alexander's swimming lesson. Easy done. She said that would be a big help. Again, it was so special to have Emily and Flynn comfortable to come around to my place for a play without Anne there. Particularly for Flynn to come around was a huge thing! He isn't always keen to leave Anne so it meant a lot that he was excited to come around.
The kids had a great time playing together which was lovely to see. Especially watching Alexander and Flynn hang out (Emily and Eliza regularly hang out together). And it meant that Anne could sleep for most of the day which helped her feel better for the weekend.
