After having Lockdown, it was great to get out and get involved in different activities and events again. James and I were able to celebrate Tim and Beth's wedding with them. Such a lovely time celebrating.
Instead of having a street Christmas party this year (because of Covid and having people in our street unvaccinated), I organised a morning tea with some of the older neighbours to come around. It was so lovely having some who I have only said hi to as I have walked past come and have a proper chat. Robyn even said that it was a big deal for her to come and she really enjoyed it and valued having it happen. I will need to try and organise it again. I really do live in such a beautiful street with some very special people who are so encouraging and supportive and who have lived amazing lives.
I did this devotional the morning before and I just love that it affirmed what God was wanting me to do in opening up my house and be more hospitable to those around me - open your door, meet your neighbour, spontaneously make room for guests.
We have enjoyed animals on our way to school - cockatoos in trees and butterflies on hands as well as saying hi to the magpies in our street as we walk past them.
Nana and Poppy made gingerbread houses at Tuesday Church which we got to enjoy after Thursday night dinner. Apparently Will took sympathy on how few lollies they had put on their house so threw extra ones in the wrapping. It was very solid as Oscar found when he tried to chop the house down with his hand.
