Chilli Cuddles

Chilli has always been a funny cat. She loved pats, but only on her terms. She enjoys cuddles, but only on her terms. She loves attention, but only on her terms.

But over lockdown and in the months following we noticed that Chilli has mellowed a lot. The kids have worked out when to pat her and to know if she is going to be happy to a pat. They even ask for her to be put on top of them in bed to have cuddles (mostly the boys). Most mornings we will hear patting the bed or clicking fingers to ask Chilli to come over. The kids started to climb into our bed just so they had a chance of Chilli climbing onto them

But I was still often the choice

The washing basket (when empty) was also a choice of place. Just wanting to be close

I do like that she has mellowed a little and that the kids are forming their own little relationships with her. I also like that she is enjoying snuggles more and I'm not as scared to give her a pat.
