This year Presentation Day was a bit different. Because of COVID parents weren't allowed on site for the assembly, but we were able to be zoomed in. I was so very excited and proud to receive a notice that Eliza was receiving an award at Presentation Day. She has worked so very hard, grown so much, applied herself through online learning as well as in the classroom and has grown in confidence in her work. She sure did deserve to receive an award and I was so glad that Mrs Barwell felt the same.
James and I set up at home to watch the service online. It was lovely to see her receive the award along with Ethan and Lucia. They are each beautiful kids.
Here is the zoom presentation of the award.
I still had tears in my eyes, even as I watched over zoom. The sound wasn't great and the shot wasn't the same as being there but the pride that I have for my girl was still there. And what a wonderful award for her to receive too - Positive attitude, effort and achievement. Perfectly sums up her year!
I am hoping that the school sends through the photo of her and Mrs Barwell that was taken on the video because it is such a special moment in her schooling time.
When we got home Eliza was very excited to show me her award - a school pencil and pacer. And to also show me her school award too.
Very well done baby girl. I know that it has been a big year with spending a term doing home learning. You have persisted when times have been tricky, you have pushed yourself to do your best. You have extended yourself in your learning and you have shown a huge amount of creativity, a love of reading, a growth in maths, and a curiosity about the world around you. My gorgeous girl, you have displayed such a positive attitude towards school - keen to go and sad to miss out. You have put in so much effort and the work you have produced is something to be very proud of. Keep up the good work. Keep putting in your best effort. Shoot for the starts because even if you miss them you will reach the moon which is still pretty amazing. Keep being you because that's all we expect you to be.
And a huge thanks to Mrs Barwell. A teacher who I would love to clone. She is so creative, so encouraging, so gentle but firm. She taught you concepts using simple tricks and rules - using your fingers to avoid reversals worked amazingly well for you! She has just been so beautiful and I love that you have had such a wonderful teacher in your year 1 journey but also who could encourage you and cheer you on from home. Well done baby girl. I can't wait to see what you become as you grow up and how you are going to change the world. Proud of you!
