Bush Walks

With Covid happening our weekends suddenly became quite quiet. During the first week of the school holidays, James had taken the week off work so we were able to do some things, but adventures had to be close to home. We decided to go for a walk in Cherrybrook, the Callicoma Walk. It was so lovely! There were waterfalls, sandstone rocks, stepping stones, bush, animals, etc. The walk wasn't too difficult, although it did go for around 3.5 hours. The kids were pretty tired by the end of the walk so struggled up the hills but otherwise they did amazingly well! Here is a photo review of the walk.

Pretty bush flowers

Awesome sandstone caves
Alexander thought this part of the sandstone looked like a crocodile. He called it Elvis and then kept talking about how we were at the Reptile Park.
Daniel pointing something out to Eliza (I think they were talking about the rocks looking like a turtle)

More stepping stones
And more caves
Peek a boo. I love how these trees have grown and hollowed out yet are able to still stand so tall.

Checking out the fountain
It was a lovely walk and so glad that we did it! We really do need to get into doing more bush walks around the area. The kids were great on it, respected others who were on the track (gave them space to pass), they respected the bush and were interested in the different key places that we stopped at along the way. A great family fun day out!
