Christmas Part 1 - Kidd Family Christmas

With being in Hervey Bay for Christmas, we organised to have my family Christmas earlier. Even though it wasn't Christmas day and was a few weeks before Christmas it still was nice to celebrate together. Sunday morning we headed around to Mum and Dad's place at 11am so that we could open presents before having lunch together.
The kids were very excited to get presents and couldn't wait to see what they got. I'd really like to slow down the present time so that the kids can actually open, appreciate and thank the people who have given them the gifts, and so that Mum can also watch and be a part of it instead of in and out with getting lunch organised. Maybe next year we can work something out to make it a bit smoother.

Anyway, the kids were very excited about their gifts that they received and were very spoilt. Daniel started with handing out the presents but then he was too keen to open his ones so I joined in with handing out the rest of the presents so everyone could open (again something that we hope will slow down next year with just openning 1 present at a time to see what they get and stop to thank the person who gave it to them.)

We then cleaned up the wrapping paper and the kids played with some of their new toys.

 Then it was lunch time.

While waiting for dessert the kids started working on the little Woolworths crafts from last year.

Then it was Christmas pudding time (a highlight for me and my kids! Not so much Oscar)

I will need to start having Mum teach me how to make the pudding I think!
We also sang happy birthday to James too and he got to have some more of his cake from Thursday night.
We then hung out, chatted and looked at different presents.

Love the relationship between these 2. Alexander just adores Oscar!

Thanks Mum for all that you did for this lunch. I know that it isn't an easy thing to pull together.

When home we openned up Alexander's gift from the Howies. It was a microphone (he loves to sing to us in the microphones). This was an awesome gift! It's like his own little performance. There is even a round of applause button. Ha!
Here he is giving himself a round of applause.
And he loves singing along to church songs with it.
Then Thursday night we got to give Uncle Howie his presents. He wasn't able to be there for early Christmas so we were excited to still be able to give them to him. The kids had fun playing with his gifts. He wasn't so keen on the jelly bellies.

What a fun early Christmas.
