Visiting Grayma, adventures and time with Nana and Poppy

Each holidays the kids and I try to visit Grayma for a play and lunch. The kids really enjoy seeing her and going to her place. I love that they enjoy it because I remember visiting Grannie when I was younger and my main incentive was to get the $1 from her for my pocket money. True, the kids' incentive may be that they get a babychino when we go there but they don't complain while there and they don't ask to go home in a hurry. They chat with Grayma, they play together, they enjoy sitting on her verandah, they seem to enjoy their time there which is great. I hope that continues. These September holidays were no different. We headed to Grayma's place and had babychinos, lunch, a play and chats on the verandah.

Grayma even did Eliza's hair. Eliza's request was 2 plaits. As she was doing it, she told Eliza that this was how she used to do Auntie Sue's hair when she was younger.

Eliza was also keen to ask Grayma if she could floss. Not the teeth flossing. She meant the dance flossing. Grayma responded with 'what is that?' so Eliza showed her what flossing looks like. I love my Grandma! She got up from her chair and had a go! (I wish my camera had caught it all but I accidentally pushed the button twice so it didn't film it). I love that she got up and had a go. Eliza and the boys LOVED that she had a go at doing it. What a special Granyma she is.
(I don't know if that little video will work so here are the screen shots)

In the holidays we were able to have a catch up with Mother's Group people for a park play. Was nice to be able to catch up with the regulars but also have some of the mums who can't make each week come too. So nice to see the kids playing together.
I also took the kids to the shops to make their own mugs. A quick activity, but a fun one for them.

I loved Daniel's one. It's of us up at the Sunshine Coast for Boompa's birthday. He included Nana J, Boompa, Maddie, Aly, Auntie Jen and the swimming pool that was in the middle of the house. Special that that is a memory that he has and wanted to draw.
Each holidays Nana and Poppy also take the kids for a sleep over. These holidays were no different. The kids had a blast at the beach. They especially enjoyed exploring the rock pools for the first time.

I do like the different pace of the school holidays. They can still be crazy busy but in a different way. They created memories. Ones that maybe the kids won't remember, but I will remember the different moments, I try to capture them in photos so that we can look back on the memories. It's just special times.
