Jayne's Wedding

My little Jayne is all grown up and married. It was just a joy and privileged to be invited to her wedding and I'm so grateful to Mum and Dad for looking after the kids so that James and I could go. The wedding was held up near Tweed Heads. So Thursday night after dinner we helped put the kids to bed at Mum and Dad's place and then headed home for an early start north. The drive was nice being able to stop when we wanted, being able to read in the car without interruptions, being able to have either a quick stop because no one needed to play or just swap drivers so we could get there. It will be different this weekend when we head up there with the kids.

We stopped at Old Bar to visit Grandma G. I was nervous about seeing her because last time it was so hard seeing her so confused and lost in the place and she didn't have time to say hi or chat with the kids. It was a bit heart breaking. But this time was very different. She was very chatty, very happy and didn't mind talking and walking with us. So lovely to see her again and to have a happy memory now, instead of the difficult one.
The rest of the drive went smoothly and we made it to our gorgeous AirBnB that James had found - a little 1 bedroom place on a family farm. Gorgeous views, peace and quiet and close to the wedding venue. It even had horses that we could feed!

We headed out to dinner with Jayne and Scott and other guests of the wedding. It was so lovely to sit, chat and catch up on the last little while and to just see how happy Jayne is.
In the morning we had a slow morning, because we could. James slept in and I sat and finished reading one of my books - something I'd been working on since being in Scotland. We then headed to the shops, walked around a little bit and then headed back to make a grazing plate for lunch while we got ready. Grant came a joined us too.

We were wedding ready. The wedding was at a gorgeous little place and in an open chapel - perfect for Jayne! It was just a ceremony filled with joy. Relaxed, low key, God at the centre. I'm so happy for Jayne and Scott and wish them all the best in the marriage.

It was fun hanging out with Grant and also lovely to catch up with El and Drew and Emily too. Such lovely people. The ceremony was followed by drinks and photos on the lawn and then a fun reception on site too.

Happy Wedding Jayne and Scott!
