Because we have been to a few concerts before, the kids were keen to get face paint done before to avoid the lines. Good idea kiddies!
Then it was time for the concert to start. We sat with our good friends Kelly, Tom, Annabelle and Lily. Colin was lots of fun, quite silly with Nudge, had some cool costumes and even sang some old playschool favourites. This included singing about God creating animals, including the frog.
We hung around to again meet Colin. He is so lovely and takes time to chat with each person who says hi and asks for a photo. I was even able to ask him about the Hokey Pokey song and why he says '8, 4, 7, 1. Hokey Pokey here we come.' He said the idea was that he'd say random numbers and the kids were surposed to respond with other random numbers, but instead they just copied him with the same numbers so it became part of the song. Funny. At least now I know there is no reason for the random numbers and can stop trying to work out the meaning. Ha.
Another adventure the kids were keen to go on was to head to the beach these holidays. Because we were quite full with the days doing different activities I decided that we'd head to the beach after the Colin Concert. After all we were half way to the beach already. I decided on Dee Why so we could have lunch, we could head to the park and the kids could have a swim. After having some hot days of course today was a cool day. But the kids were very keen to still go for a swim.
First stop was fish and chips. Yum!
We then headed to the park for a play. The swings like normal were a bit hit.
We then headed back to the car to grab the swimmers so that the crazy kids could go into the water.
The kids were super keen. I was not. I decided that I wasn't going to go into the water. Too cold.
The kids were then keen to go and explore the rock pools. We got changed so that they could get a bit warmer (they were freezing by the time they got out) and headed over to the rock pools. The waves were crashing quite high on the rocks so I told the kids that they weren't to go near the water so we explored the big rocks and looked in the small rock pools.
I'm the king of the castle...
And you're the dirty rascal.
The kids made a rock path.
And climbed up high.
