Alexander's First Reader

Alexander's Kindy class didn't send readers home straight away, but he was keen to start reading and apply his use of high frequency words to read some books on his own. So I got out some readers for him. Here he is reading his first reader. I love how he sounds out the words, how he has a go and how he is recognising some words that he hasn't been able to read before. I do wonder if he's going to enjoy reading as much a Daniel and Eliza.

He was so proud of himself and his reading, he wanted to take it and read to Nana and Poppy at dinner.

He also enjoyed reading with Auntie Jenny.
