Daniel's 1st Athletics Carnival

Today was Daniel's 1st Athletics Carnival. It was a wet and miserable day but the school went ahead with the plan to have the carnival and just hoped that the rain wouldn't get too heavy. They lasted for half the day before pulling the plug and taking the kids back to school but the kids had fun while we were there.

Daniel arrived early so he could complete in the 800m race. 800m is a lot further than Daniel thought. After 1 lap he was quite tired but with cheering from the sideline he kept going. I'm really proud of him for jogging most of the way and for giving it a go. It gives points to his team.

With the 100m race Daniel had a great start. He isn't the fastest on the track but he gave his all the whole way and didn't come last so well done to him.

After it getting cancelled because of the rain I offered to Cathy that I could take Ethan home so she didn't have to head up to school in the rain. He and Eliza were so cute walking home together - chatting and laughing together. It was a cute way to finish a wet and rainy day.
