Preschool Concert Term 3

To finish Term 3, Daniel’s preschool class put on a small performance with some of their favourite songs followed by a picnic. I haven’t seen Daniel in the group setting at preschool since last year at the Christmas concert so didn’t really know what to expect but I was certain to embrace him and his performance.

When I arrived everyone was sitting on the ground waiting to perform and the parents/grandparents were sitting in front. Daniel jumped up and ran to give me a hug. Gorgeous. He then gave Eliza a hug and asked if she wanted to sit with him. She went down and sat next to him, giving cuddles and smiles. Too cute! Everyone in the crowd were ooohing and aaaahhhhing. I was saying it was a facade because they haven’t been like that at home. Ha. But Eliza decided she wanted to sit in the crowd instead.
Daniel then noticed that there weren’t many seats left so shouted out ‘There isn’t a seat for Nana to sit down on!’ I reassured him that there were still enough seats and it was ok.
When Mum and Dad arrived Daniel ran right up to Nana to give her a hug and then did the same for Poppy.

They then started the performance. They sang their good morning song that they do each morning. Then they sang ‘London Bridge is falling down’ because they had been making and showing an interest in bridges lately.
Next was ‘Mr Clickety Cane’ which they loved doing and Daniel was fantastic with the actions! They did a couple of other songs too. The last song each kid got to invite someone up to dance with them. Daniel chose Poppy. It was adorable to watch them dance together, even if some of the moves were a bit tricky for Poppy ;) precious moments and precious memories!

I was so proud of Daniel. He has grown so much this year! He sat and listened, he smiled and sang, he did all the actions. He was so proud to have us there and perform for us. I had tears in my eyes to see how far he has come. He is definitely ready for school.

We then went outside for the picnic. It was nice to sit together with the rest of the class and their family members. It is really a lovely group of people. After Eliza had fun playing in the sandpit, Alexander had fun running around and Daniel enjoyed playing with his friends. What a lovely way to finish the term! Just one more term of preschool to go for him!

Here are some videos and photos of him performing.

A message for Daniel:

To my dearest Daniel,
I am so proud of you! I am so proud of how far you have come this year and can’t wait to see you continue to grow into an amazing young man.

At preschool today you showed such care for those around you. You probably won’t remember but the night before you told me that you wanted Thomas to sit with us during lunch because he didn’t have anyone coming for the picnic. This made both myself and your dad so proud! Your heart for others is just beautiful to see. This was then repeated at the concert when Ernie was a bit nervous and only wanted to stay with his mum. You and Thomas went up to him and asked if he wanted to come and sit with you. I hope and pray that this generous, kind, caring nature that you have for others never changes!!

I loved watching you perform today. I loved seeing your smile the whole way through, especially when singing ‘belly flop in a pizza. Eeeeewww’. I loved seeing you listen to your teachers and join in with everyone else.

As I said, you have come so far. Your personality is shining and your care for others. Never change my darling boy.

Love Mummy
