| I love how these boys are holding hands in this photo. Bless |
We hopped onto the light rail and then walked over to Monkey Baa theatre. We arrived just as it was starting.
The performance was fantastic! Each of the kids were engaged, even Alexander. The little Grug puppets were gorgeous and the story line was so simple, so cute and quite funny.
The storyline was very sweet. The 3 actors wanted to make Grug a rainbow. They needed to find the different colours to make the rainbow from things around the room - clothes, socks, kids bags, etc. They would get then wipe the colour onto their paintbrush. The way that they engaged the audience was fantastic.

Daniel's favourite colour was blue which they found on their clothes. When they painted the wall as blue lights shone a bright blue flower grew. Grug picked the flower and then a bluebird took the flower and used it to finish its nest.
Eliza's favourite colour was yellow which they found on a person's bag. The yellow led to a story about Grug learning to ride his bike. He wobbled on the bike and fell off. Cara the snake then had to take him to hospital. She became the ambulance, but he fell off the ambulance. She then looked after him in Hospital being a nurse and doctor. He felt much better and then learnt to ride his bike and rode it really well.
While Alexander couldn't tell me his favourite part, there was a moment where everyone was encouraged to dance with Cara. He loved bouncing along to the music and dancing with everyone.
I'm so glad that the kids enjoyed watching the show.
After the show we went to the park. The kids had a great time exploring all the different water play and equipment.
We then enjoyed lunch at the park and a little run around to try and catch the birds. Then we caught the train back home.
What a great day!
