For Fathers' Day we gave James tickets to the V8s at Homebush with the plan that Daniel would go with him for 1 or 2 of the days. Daniel was so very excited to go! On the Saturday he and James headed in early to get a good spot, have a walk around, watch some of the cars and just enjoy exploring the place. He was lucky enough to meet Fabian Coulthard and Scott Pye just while they were walking around. James said that they were lovely guys which is great to hear.
James also looked at the merchandise and bought our Craig Lowndes loving boy a new cap and a badge. Daniel wore both very proudly!
He did really well over the day. He enjoyed watching the cars although it was a bit hard to see it all and understand the difference watching it live compared to watching it on the tv. James gave him the iPad and his headphones so he could listen to some music and watch the cars. He was excited to head back on Sunday and James was happy to take him because he was so good!
On Sunday they both headed in early so they could go to the signing session. Daniel and James were both so excited to get Craig Lowndes' signature. Unfortunately when they lined up the security guard told them that they started to turn people away 5mins ago because there were too many people. They both were so sad. Daniel felt so sorry for Daniel. They went for a walk around to different things to try and distract themselves and watched some more cars. At around 10:30am Daniel said he was tired and wanted to go home. James made a compromise with him that they stay until the end of the top 10 shoot out and then they head home for the race. Daniel accepted. They walked through the Paddock again, looked at the different cars. Daniel was happy to stand beside Craig's car.
James was excited to have him stand beside Garth Tander's car just after he had won pole.
Daniel was also very excited to see Craig Lowndes. It was from a few people away and he didn't get to speak to him but he got to see him in real life. They were so happy about it that they Skyped me to let me know.
I'm so glad that they had a wonderful time. I hope they get to go to the races again in the future.
While the boys were at the cars Alexander, Eliza and I were doing normal things at home, one being the shopping. When we arrived at the shops a lady asked if Eliza wanted to have her face painted to her arm painted for free. Eliza decided on having a rainbow on her arm. What a work of art was created! Eliza was so good to just sit there, still, the whole time.
Another lady was doing balloon sculpting so Eliza was given a flower. What a special treat.
