Daniel toilet training update

I know I've fallen behind with posting about other exciting things but this one doesn't need any photos so is faster to post. Ha.

But I am so very proud of Daniel and his toilet training. I know it has been a long journey (almost a year and a half) but over the last couple of months he has started to listen to his body and go to the toilet without asking. Other times we have suggested that he goes to the toilet and he has just responded with 'ok' and gone. This is very different to the 'no' and the meltdown which followed.

Then last night James again forgot to put a nappy on Daniel to go to sleep. He woke at 10:30pm and went to the toilet, realising that he didn't have a nappy on. He called out to James and I and James noticed that he forgot a nappy. He then felt Daniel's undies and they were still dry. He then asked Daniel if he wanted to try and sleep the night with undies on. If he wakes he is to just go to the toilet and then climb back into bed. Daniel was so excited and very keen to try so he agreed. I put a brolly sheet on his bed so that if an accident happened it would be a quick change of the sheets. The next hour involved Daniel going to the toilet 4 more times and James and I were starting to question if we made the right choice as he would be very tired the next day if this continued. Fortunately after 11:30pm Daniel then slept through until 6am when he woke up and went to the toilet! Dry undies all night! Wowee!

He's keen to try again tonight so I think we are to say bye to nappies for Daniel and hello undies all day and night. I know he's probably going to have a few accidents but that's ok. It's all part of the process. We're so proud of him being so keen to have a go.
