Today I took Eliza to get her eyes tested. For the past 2 months Eliza has been complaining that her eyes are sore. When I asked her where they were sore, she said in the sides of her eyes. We didn't think that meant that her eyes needed glasses but decided that it was important to go and check them.
I picked her up early from school and we headed to Hornsby Bupa Optical and they were so lovely. The optometrist was so kind and patient with Eliza. He checked her sight of the letters, most she got right (tricky when she gets confused with a couple of letters). He then looked into her eyes with a little light (which she mentioned she hoped wouldn't happen). She was brave with it.
He did a few more tests but everything came back fine. He did mention that she had an allergic reaction in her eyes. There was definite irritation on the sides. I asked him if he knew what caused it but he said no, it could be anything. He recommended some eye drops for her for the next 2 weeks which should clear them up. She was to avoid rubbing her eyes.
She did an amazing job with her eye drops! She'd even ask for them when we'd forget. I wish I could be like her. I'm not good with things in or near my eyes. Over the 2 weeks the itchiness went away which is good. Some days they seemed more itchy for her than others. Good to be aware of this for if it happens again in the future. Also good to know that her eye sight is fine.
We decided to treat ourselves before heading home. Donuts from donut king. Yum!
