I came across this post on the Toddler Approved website and thought I'd give it a try. The kids love going to Putt Putt Golf and mentioned to Mum and Dad that they were keen to go to miniature golf when they next stayed at their place so it was another fun and relevant fun activity.
I used Daniel's wooden train track as well as Alexander's car track to make the golf courses. I headed to Kmart and bought a $6 golf set that had 3 golf clubs and 3 balls. It also had 2 holes. I also bought some plastic cups to be the other holes.I cut out small paper circles for where the ball would start on each hole.
I made 6 different holes and a cafe (an expectation of the kids). This time I made some choc chip muffins for the kids to have. I set the cafe up like I remember the putt putt cafe that we used to go to when I was younger where they sell you the clubs and balls when you enter.
I also made the score cards for the games.
The kids got right into it. It was quite fun playing with each other. They encouraged each other with their shots, they got excited when they got the ball in the hole. They came up with strategies to try and get lower scores.
Then Daniel's turn.
On the 2nd hole, Daniel managed to get a hole in 1! We were so excited! It was really cool to see. He managed to hit it on the left side of the track and it bounced off into the cup. Amazing shot (and he couldn't replicate it). I honestly wasn't expecting a hole in 1 on this one.
He kept trying to get another hole in 1 but he couldn't get it.
I took more goes to get the ball in.
Hole 4 was fun. I made a little ramp for the ball to go into the fire station and then go straight into the cup (hole). When I set it up I had a go and got a hole in 1. James and I had a little game the night I set it up and I got a hole in 1. This time, I didn't get a hole in one. Ha.
After my recorded shot I had another go and got a hole in 1. I was pretty stoked that it worked!
Hole 5 was a tricky one with a corner and a bridge to get the ball under.
Hole 6 had a little lane for the ball to go through to try and get a hole in 1. It happened once but wasn't very easy to do.
The final score card was this. Well done to Daddy!
The kids were hungry so we went down to the cafe and they put in their orders.
The kids then headed back upstairs and kept playing the different holes. They went to different ones as they wanted to.
Alexander managed the get a hole in 1 on hole 6! I loved his reaction when he got it! He was so so so excited.
Then Eliza was very excited about getting a hole in 1 on hole 4. She was quite surprised about getting it.
Another fun day together and a fun activity that the kids embraced.
