Creative Birthday Presents

With Eliza being sick on her birthday and for the week of her birthday, we ended up using a lot of her birthday presents to fill in our time. The first one that she wanted to do was to decorate her own umbrella. So when nap time started I allowed Eliza to stay up - it was just easier to do it without Alexander wanting to 'help'. There was a stencil template that we used to help decorate the umbrella but Eliza chose what she wanted to do on the different sections. I guided her in doing something on each alternate section and to just do dots or something simple on the blank ones. Eliza even let me join in the painting fun buy doing the sun on one of the sections. The finished product looks awesome I think!

Painting Eliza
Put a spot over here and a spot over there...
The finished product looks very fun! Now we just need a rainy day to be able to use it.
She painted her name and a picture of herself.
A planet and some stars
A hear, the sun and flowers
Butterflies.

The next day Eliza decided that she wanted to make her Fairy Garden. We needed to get some soil so we headed off to Bunnings. Eliza and Alexander were very keen to use the trolleys.
We managed to find the soil and headed back home to put it together. The garden is very cute.
Making the path
Excited about her garden
The fairy needed to explore her garden
Eliza's fairy garden
Daniel was excited to play with it at the end of the day too after he came home from school.
The instructions said that the grass would grow between 1-2 weeks. Much to our surprise and excitement the grass actually grew just 3 days after we made it! So cool. Eliza was very excited!

Again, the fairy needed to explore her new garden.
Daddy and Eliza 'mowed' the grass but I think it is going to be a regular thing that needs to be done if the grass continues to grow this quickly.

Such fun Birthday presents!
