Painting

After Eliza being stuck at home for 3 days with her rubella and the weather being either too hot or too wet to play outside the kids were getting restless. They asked if they could do some painting and I decided that we'd give it a go. Normally I do painting only outside so that if any mess happens, it isn't inside. The kids amazed me with how good the were. I was quite firm in that they had to stay sitting while painting and they surprisingly did. I quite enjoyed seeing their creative juices flow.

Daniel wanted to draw a picture first and then paint like he did at preschool. He wanted to draw our family which I absolutely loved! He has come so far with his drawing.

He then drew a picture of his best friend Lachlan and himself. We spoke about giving it to Lachlan and delivering it to his letter box. Daniel then painted Lachlan's letterbox and house and the sun. He took great pride in delivering it to his house.
Eliza said she wasn't able to paint people or faces but she had a lovely time painting to the song 'put a spot over here and a spot over there...'. Fortunately she laughed and said no when singing 'put a spot on your ear and a spot on your hair'. She then did swirls and stripes too.
It makes me think that I will possibly do more painting with them... possibly :-)
