Christmas Part 1

Today was Daniel's first part of Christmas with my side of the family. We headed around to Mum and Dad's place this afternoon, instead of our normal Thursday nights. Daniel started with his usual 'I'll try something new with Auntie Jenny'. Today it was trying to walk. Again, not something we want to encourage him to do anytime soon!
It was the first time that he has been picking up his feet and moving them forward.
Then it was story time with Auntie Jenny. I hope Daniel grows up to love books just like Oscar does!
Then because Daniel was getting grizzly we decided it was present time. Howie was all dressed up for the occasion.
It is very different doing Christmas with a baby who can't open presents for himself. It also didn't help that he was getting very tired so was becoming extra grumpy. He did last to 'help' open his present from Auntie Jenny, Uncle Awesome and Oscar. If by 'help open' I mean help taste each present, then he was an awesome helper!

Lucky boy! He got some books (which he enjoyed reading some with me this morning - lots of smiles) and a fiddle toy made of balls which I am sure he will enjoy playing with when he gets a bit older and stronger.

While we were unwrapping his presents, Oscar opened his gift from us - 2 chuggington trains for his Thomas track. He was very happy with them!

James opened his gift from the Howies and was very happy to add to his Weber collection!
I am looking forward to some meals from in this book. There are some very tasty ones!
Daniel then moved to Daddy who helped him open a present from Aunty Megan and Mark. Again, the paper seemed more appealing than the present itself.

It was a cool aeroplane which he will be able to play with when he turns 1.

Then we moved onto presents from Nana and Poppy. He got through a couple of presents
(some cool pants, a box to play with in the sand, an awesome toothbrush holder with a timer attached) but then was too tired to appreciate them so it was bed time for him. We decided to leave the presents until he was awake or until tomorrow.

However, Daniel had some other ideas. Howie decided that my present from James (a new laptop!!!!) needed a bit of a workout with photobooth. Oh he is so attractive.
Oscar joined in on the fun. He is getting so good at pulling funny faces!

Daniel did not want to sleep (I think he was pushed a bit too far) so just before dinner time he joined in on the Photobooth fun.

And James joined in too.
It was then dinner time. Yummy roast chicken. Thanks Mum! We started with bon bons. Daniel had a go with Nana

He won! But then it was a little be too loud and a shock so tears closely followed. He recovered quickly which was good so I could eat my dinner. Then while I ate dessert, Daniel went to have some cuddles with Auntie Jenny. We decided it was time to introduce Daniel to coasters (something Oscar loved playing with at his age).

The game then became drop the coaster on the ground and have Auntie Jenny need to pick it up. This happened so many times.

Thanks for a fun part 1 Christmas time family! We hope you have a wonderful day on Christmas day.
