Mothers' Day Weekend 2022

Mothers' Day weekend 2023 was a busy one. On the Saturday I had cuddles and presents in bed. Always a lovely time together.

We headed out for breakfast together at The Brook.

Then our afternoon was great fun heading to the Swans. Facebook memories showed us a photo that was taken 5 years ago of me and the kids before a Swans game so we had to do a reenactment. We got pretty close. My babies are growing up.

We headed into the city and James dropped Daniel and I off for Daniel's bass exam. It was his first exam and he was feeling pretty good about it. The exam wasn't needed but Trent, his tutor, felt it's a good thing to do to show where you're sitting. James and I also felt it would be a good way to know where he sits skill wise and give him a purpose to practise. The exam was 30mins and he came out saying it was 'good'. Glad that it wasn't bad.

James then picked us up and took us to meet the others with Poppy at the Swans game. We arrived at 1/4 time so it wasn't too much of an interruption. The game was lots of fun with the kids, followed by a quick kick around after the game in Centennial Park.

Sunday morning was Auskick where the mums were encouraged to join in. It was a great atmosphere. The kids also asked Nana if she and Poppy could come and join in too. I love that Mum was keen to join in the game. There was an obstacle course which ended in trying to kick a goal.

The first time doing the circuit I crawled under the padding. The next time I just went around. Nana didn't go under it, but that was fair. The kids had an awesome time running around and competing the activities.

Nana scored an awesome goal, and was pretty proud of herself scoring it too.

Then they had to run backwards which made it a bit trickier for all.

The kids then did some activities in their groups and then the mums got to join in the AFL game. It was quite funny watching the little kids be cheeky and excited as they played against their mums.

It was really nice to be able to play at part of the Auskick game. Eliza was awarded Star of the Week which she was very pleased with.

Big thanks to Nana for coming and being such a good sport and joining in. And thanks to my kiddies for the cookies that they gave me. I then coached Daniel's AFL team and they won which was a pretty nice present.

I love being a Mum to these cheeky monkeys and I love being involved in their sporting activities. What a blessing it is.
