While Nana J was here we decided to go for an adventure to the Easter Show. The kids had been asking to go so we decided it would be fun to do together. We caught the train together and then went and saw the Fire Brigade section. So cool to see many of the fire engines and vehicles up close.
We headed to the Showgrounds to watch the bike stunts and speed cars. Daniel was super keen to go and watch them.
We headed over to the farm - something that the kids were keen to return to after the last time we were at the Easter Show. It was a bit busier than last time but they still enjoyed the different tasks to get the produce from the farm and fill their bucket so they could get some apple pieces.
We visited the food pavilion and looked at each of the displays. They are still so cool to see as an adult! And I found an ice tea store that you could get top ups for just $2. It was so tasty and handy to come back to a few times.
The kids were amazed by the cakes on display (and so was I).
But my favourite was watching the wood chopping! They are so mesmerising to watch.
The kids enjoyed learning the process to make pasta - grinding oats to flour, then flatting the dough (play dough) and then putting it through a pasta maker.
They got to pat chickens and sheep and goats.
We then finished the night with some rides (that were promised). The kids each got to choose a couple of rides. We all went on the giant sack ride (well, Nana J watched us), Daniel enjoyed the dodgems, Eliza enjoyed a flying elephant ride, they both enjoyed a mini rollercoaster while Alexander enjoyed a car ride and a monster truck ride. All happy kiddies.
As we left we stopped to get showbags for the big and little kids) and also got some dinner - the kids got toasted cheese sandwiches which were perfect and easy (and cheap compared to everything else). We had stayed much later than we had planned!
