On the Sunday night before we headed up the Hervey Bay Eliza had a wobbly tooth. She was nervous about eating with it because it was quite loose and bled when she bit into food. She asked me to pull it out, but with Nana and Poppy around I told her that Poppy was the pro at pulling out teeth. He used to pull out Auntie Jenny and my teeth when we were younger. Eliza was keen to have Poppy pull out her tooth so that she could eat her dinner.
I got Poppy some string and he worked his magic - tying it around her tooth and then a simple pull and out it came.
Eliza then came up with a cute idea that when a tooth came out, we would have to read Tamara the Toothfairy so that was our book for the night. In the morning I had a sad little girl who called out 'The toothfairy didn't come!' Oops! With Malcolm passing away that night it totally slipped my mind to give her money for her tooth. I felt really bad. Eliza then said to me 'I think you are the toothfairy Mummy because you were so busy last night packing to go to Hervey Bay, you forgot to take my tooth.' Clever girl. I just replied to her 'Maybe. Let's see what happens tonight.' We decided to take her tooth up to Coffs Harbour and hopefully the toothfairy would come to visit.
(The toothfairy did decide to come that night and was very clever to come to Coffs Harbour).
