The day started with us taking the bikes up to Ruddock Park for breakfast and a ride. James put together a tasty breakfast or quiches, fruit and juice. So nice. And I was treated to my presents. James said that the kids were desperate to get me a card each but because we have our birthday messages book he took photos of the cards they chose instead. Too cute!

Eliza really wanted to give me the middle card but couldn't decide between the 3.
The kids enjoyed the swings, the equipment, riding their bikes and playing AFL. Just so lovely to hang out and play together.
Super proud of Eliza who was sure she wouldn't ride her 'wobbly bike' at all but decided to give riding around the play equipment a go because she didn't have to go up or down hills. A perfect birthday present for me is her having a go at riding her bike and having confidence in herself.
She even had an impressive fall hurting her knee but after a cuddle with James, she decided to hop back onto her bike and have another go! So very proud of her! I honestly thought that she would refuse to get back on the bike if she fell but she was fine.
In between riding the boys had a blast playing AFL. Eliza joined in for a little bit too.
Alexander has started to learn how to do bunny ears and decided to try it on me. Ha. Cheeky boy.
I love my family. They are so funny and cheeky and have really spoilt me today.
We then rode back home again. Eliza had a go at riding part of the way too. Clever girl.
We had a quiet afternoon at home including a rest time so that we were ready for the night adventure to Vivid. We decided to drive part of the way to the city then hopped onto the train.
We got off at Milson's Point and walked over the Harbour Bridge. The kids haven't walked over the Harbour Bridge before and were chatting about it so we decided that tonight would be the first time for them. While we were halfway over the bridge the Vivid lights turned on which was pretty cool to watch.

I just love that these guys walk along and choose to hold each others hands without anyone suggesting it.

The Opera House was cool to watch
We then walked down to the water to have dinner (sushi that I had made). We sat by the water and watched the ballerina light display. This was by far Eliza's favourite one.
We then headed to the toilets where the kids spotted some light balls bouncing up and down. They wanted to go and see it. They were so cute watching the balls move and trying to jump up and catch them.
We then headed over to Circular Quay. So very busy! There were people everywhere. Very different to last time. I do think that we will go on a school night next time which isn't the last night of the long weekend.
We saw the Samsung display and the kids were keen to enter it. They had fun looking at the light poles change colour and turn on and off as the music played.
Eliza and Daniel were then keen to go on the slide. After we lined up we asked how long it would take until it would be our turn. They said over 30mins. We convinced the kids that we wouldn't line up and instead head to find ice cream. They were won over.
The kids spotted colourful hoops and wanted to have a go. They did ok. James did quite well (the time after I videoed him).
Daniel's turn.
Annoyingly barriers were up so we had to walk all the way to the Opera House before walking all the way back to the ice cream shop. Daniel really wanted to set up the lights of the Harbour Bridge (like he did last time we were there) but the line was so long and it was getting late so we decided not to line up.
We did make it to ice cream. Daniel chose chocolate, Alexander had vanilla and Eliza (who was very excited) had chocolate chip ice cream. Happy kiddies.
We then headed back to the train and drove back home.
A fun night for us all. We were very tired by the end of it though.
A lovely birthday where I was very spoilt by my lovely family.
