Alexander's 1st Birthday Party

On Saturday 13th of May, 2017 we had Alexander's lovely family come around to celebrate a year of having him with us. We set up the house and the outside area ready for the party. He was pretty happy about his cake - Row Row Row Your Boat, chosen because it is his favourite song to sing. This cake was the easiest one that I have made yet which I wasn't expecting. It looked pretty cute too.

All set up, ready for the party

Look, my cake!
I love that my family have resources that we can use - tables and chairs to borrow.

Alexander was very loved and spoilt by all his family. He had a lot of lovely cuddles. I didn't get photos with everyone but it was lovely to have Nana J and Boompa down as well as Aunty Jen and Maddie and Aly to visit us.

As it was such a lovely day, we spent all the time outside which worked well. The kids loved playing on the road, riding their bikes and Aunty Megan even took down the car so Alexander and Aly could join in the fun. So nice seeing all the cousins playing together so happily.

We had a nice bbq lunch which was enjoyed by all. We ended up having a kiddies table and an adults table (with the exception of a few). Lots of laughs, great chats.

After lunch the kids had fun jumping on the trampoline together, playing games. Again lots of laughs, a few tears, lots of imagination.
We then sang happy birthday to Alexander followed by cake time.

He wasn't very sure about his first try of cake. There were a lot of funny faces pulled and unsure about the feel of it but once he had a taste he finished the whole thing. I think he was pretty pleased with his cake.

After being cleaned up Alexander then openned his presents. The poor little guy was quite overtired as he was a bit sick and he had been up for over 4 hours so he didn't really enjoy openning the presents and looking at them, but we powered through and thanked each person for their generous gifts.

He was very spoilt and quite loved. Alexander then went down for a nap while we finished packing up and said bye to everyone.

What a lovely day and a very special boy. I still can't believe that he's turning 1!!
