Get the creative juices flowing

Daniel and I have been letting our creative juices flow lately.

Daniel has continued enjoying playing with playdough since being in Hervey Bay. He loves telling me step by step what he is doing - rolling, cutting, making shapes.

He has enjoyed playing with it so much we went and bought some more cutting tools and a roller so he could enjoy it. I'm so proud of the way he uses the playdough. It's in a draw in the back room. He pulls out the playdough container, and a couple of tools and then takes them to his table. He sits down and plays with it and then when he finishes packs it all away. The only difficulty is as Eliza starts to pull up she is going to get into it. Not too sure what to do about that...

One night when James was out for dinner, I decided to make pizzas with Daniel which was great fun! Daniel absolutely loved it and asks to have pizza almost every night. I let him do most of it, guiding him as he went.
Spreading the tomato paste (first time using a knife)
Carefully placing the ham (all in the one spot while Mummy helps move them around)
Putting the pineapple on (after mushrooms)
Proud of what he made
Giving his cooked pizza a thumbs up
Enjoying his pizza too much to smile for the camera.
I was very proud of how he didn't eat the toppings as he went like he does when I make our lunches. It is definitely an easy dinner to make and pretty good for him too. Yum, yum!

After a long time avoiding paint with a toddler I decided to take a breath, make my own and give it a go. I have tried to avoid it because at school I only did painting with a couple of students at a time as it could be very messy. I decided to make it very structured and do it while Eliza was asleep so I could have all my attention on him. I was very proud of him and how he did it!
He enjoyed himself!

Daniel's 1st paiting
As I mentioned it was very structured. Use one colour, wash it after then use the next one. It made some lovely wrapping paper for friends.
