Lockdown Weekend Activities

Weekends have been slow but filled with family activities. With planning lessons through the week I tended to take the weekends as a bit of downtime. The kids had been pretty good in playing together during those times.

Lots of reading in bed. This was particularly sweet when Alexander decided to read his Bible to his toys

James set up the sprinkler for the kids to play in, because we couldn't head down to Judy's pool on hot days. The kids had a blast (although Alexander didn't like it spraying on his face).

Eliza finished off her house for Unicorny and decorated it and then had fun playing with it.

The kids enjoyed the slower mornings together and I did love seeing them sitting in bed together reading.

The kids had also been desperate to do some Science activities. On Sunday after church I finally found the energy to organise some activities for them to do. We experimented with zero gravity and their toys, spinning them around our heads on string.

We blew up a balloon without using our hands. The kids predicted how big it would blow, but were a bit disappointed that it didn't grow any bigger than in the video.

We experimented with sound waves, using a fork and string.

And we made butterflies fly using magnetic fields.

Of course sport was on the TV at times and so this is how our kids ate their lunch.

And Eliza and I were matchy match with earrings. Sadly her unicorn earrings broke but it was nice to be matching if a few days.
