Grandparents time

Early June Nana J and Boompa came down to visit us and for Boompa to help James with the backyard. Unfortunately the weather wasn't the best and made it a very muddy, boggy backyard so they only got to do 1 day of work but that also meant that we got to have a lot of time with them while they were here.

They were here for my birthday which was a nice day. I got very spoilt at night with presents from them (a herb garden that I can't wait to set up!) and a bunnings voucher and presents from the kids and James (a wooden tree from Eliza suggested to be a Christmas tree, scales from Alexander and a fake plant to go beside my bed from Daniel and dinner out with James).

We had a lovely lunch with Aunty Megan, Mark and Malcolm and Julie before having coffee with Aunty Shirley. It was nice to see her again. Alexander was very cute when he saw Aunty Shirley. He got so excited that it was Grayma. Cute but not quite right. He was still happy to see Aunty Shirley too. The day was filled with lovely chats, park plays and family.

While we were getting photos the kids were swinging on the hand rail. I sang '3 cheeky monkeys swinging in a tree...' and the kids loved it, especially when the hungry crocodile comes along and snaps them. They decided to continue the song with the 3 of them. I love their smiles on their face with such a simple thing. I also love that Alexander gets into it too.

Having Nana J and Boompa stay with us meant that Nana J was able to come and help with school and preschool drop off and pick up.
And Alexander enjoyed having Nana J join in Mainly Music with us.
The kids were excited to have Nana and Poppy back from their overseas holiday. I loved driving home from the shops to see Nana sitting on the grass out the front with Eliza and Alexander.

We had family dinner at Nana and Poppy's place on Poppy's birthday. The kids were keen to help blow out the candles with him.

We also got to celebrate my birthday, Poppy's birthday and Grayma's birthday together at Mum and Dad's place with another delicious Chinese lunch, thanks Mum!
I got the best present from the Howies. It's A Very Noble Adventure board game. We just had to play it and it's awesome. Many laughs were had and great memories and activities.

Alexander got many smiles from Grayma when he gave her a bunch of lavender.

James and I enjoyed a kid free night when all 3 kiddies and Oscar spent the night at Mum and Dad's place. We had a productive time with sanding and painting the back room ceiling, Daniel's ceiling, the hallway, kitchen ceiling and the laundry ceiling as well as a trip to IKEA and then building a couch. Having no kids around you can be much more productive! (A week on and I haven't had the chance to do anything more). The kids had a blast with bushwalks and babychinos and park play. I'm glad that Mum and Dad survived the multiple wake ups in the night too (it was nice to not be woken up by the kids in the night!)

At dinner on Thursday night I loved watching and listening to Daniel and Alexander tell Nana about the zoo and aquarium and the animals that they saw.
And I adored Alexander's giggles with Poppy playing with the puppy.
I love the relationship the kids have with their grandparents. It's such a special thing and filled with so much love!
