Alexander turns 2!

On the 17th May, Alexander turned 2. How on earth is my baby boy now 2? But I am so proud of the little man that he is turning into. His listening is great. His care for others, his listening skills are amazing, his giggle and joy for life is contagious. I love seeing his little personality grow and can't wait to see how it will continue to grow and develop as a 2 year old!

Alexander's birthday was on a Thursday. Eliza started with giving Alexander a birthday cake and singing to him.
We did presents before James had to head to work and Daniel to school. Alexander read his birthday book messages with Daddy.

Then he was right into openning the presents.

Our little guy loves to clean so we thought this present was perfect for him

He just loves trains!
We did a couple of photos altogether.

He has just started to want to do silly photos. The compromise is a nice photo first, then a silly one
Then Daddy headed off to work and we had breakfast. Then the kids had a little play before we took Daniel to school. I'm glad that Alexander's toys are such a hit!
Doing some 'brooming'

Daniel did some dusting

Noble cleaning, at your service
After we took Daniel to school Eliza read a book to Alexander while I got things ready for Mothers' Group.
Note the earmuffs because of the builders' noise
We were hosting today but because of the builders being here, we headed to Hotel Pennant Hills instead. It was fun for a 'special' outing too for Alexander's birthday. The kids had a blast playing in the play area with their friends. The trampoline was a hit.
We then stopped the playing to sing 'Happy Birthday' to Alexander and enjoy some cupcakes.

Om nom
We headed home for lunch and nap time and then picked Daniel up from school. When home Auntie Jenny came around for a quick visit and to say happy birthday.
He also got to Facetime with the jetsetting Nana and Poppy.
He had a lovely birthday.

On the weekend we then continued to celebrate Alexander at his party at the park with family. The cake came together well. I decided on making a number 2 with a Thomas train track on it. I found a special birthday Thomas train that plays the Thomas theme music to go on top of the cake. I was pretty happy with the outcome.

Oreo dirt track
KitKat mini for the track
I even made some traffic signals with licorice allsorts and icing pens
Licorice to complete the tracks
And with Thomas
It was just a small party this time with people being away on holidays or at other events but that was ok. The sun was shining, there was food, cake and family together and the birthday boy enjoyed himself making it a lovely day.

Once home, Auntie Sue and Grayma came around to have a look at the house renovations. Alexander wanted to have a photo with them too.
Alexander had fun playing with his new presents - tunnels and magnetic blocks.

How is my baby boy now 2? This crazy, cheeky, gorgeous boy needs to stop growing!
