Gower family get together

On Easter Monday we headed to Uncle Milton and Auntie Barb's place to catch up with Dad's side of the family. It has been a very long time since all the cousins have been together and it was so lovely to catch up with everyone!

We headed over an arrived around midday and most others were there. We worked our way around to say hello to everyone. The kids were straight into playing together which was so lovely to see. It was really nice to be able to sit and chat with my cousins and catch up. It was especially lovely to see Jo (who James had only met before at our wedding) and Nat again and their families. The day was filled with many, many, many laughs and some tears of joy.
Eliza and Elyse played so nicely together. Eliza just adored her!
The kids were right into playing (both the big kids and little kids).

It was nice to sit with Kimberly and Emma and play with Ethan. He is such a happy bubba!

Alexander just loves babies!
We then sat down for lunch. A feast for all!

After lunch there was a bit more playing.

We then had our traditional family group photo.

We then took the kids out to the front yard to occupy them while Nat organised an Easter egg hunt. Jo did a great job at occupying them!

The Easter egg hunt was a big success. There were so many eggs and the kids had a blast running around, trying to find them.
Alexander even got into it
Auntie Ros helped Daniel find the ones up on the clothes line
Eliza used her hat as a basket
Ethan tried to eat some, even with the wrapper on.
And Alexander tried to take them all.
Until they all spilt on the ground. It was then another hunt all over again to pick them all up.
Daniel then helped Nat carry them.
It was then dessert time. With Andrew's birthday being the next week, I made him a cake and we all sang 'Happy Birthday'.
Jenny organised a fun dessert for the kids. She brought biscuits and icing for the kids to design their own Easter eggs. It was a big hit! Elyse (I think it was) even commented that this was her best Easter yet!

Icing fights

There was another fun game between the big kids and the little ones.
And Ethan liked chatting with Uncle Milton.
We had to get some photos of all the cousins together because it was the first time in such a long time of us all together. Again, many laughs were had during these!

Nat then had the kids help divide up the Easter Eggs. Jo thought it would be fun to try and snatch the bag. She didn't expect Nat to hold onto the bag so tightly!

Just before we left they played another ball game.
As we left I got to snap a photo of the brothers, missing their middle brother but still happy and smiley.
Such a wonderful day! I hope that it is much sooner that we can all get together again.
