Catch up

A lot has been happening lately so here is a quick look at things that we have gotten up to.

Last holidays Eliza went and spent a night with Nana and Poppy. Unfortunately Daniel was sick so stayed home (and was sad to miss it). When Eliza got back she said 'I missed Daniel but I didn't miss Alexander.' Her actions however showed a different story as you can see in this photo.
Daniel and Eliza enjoyed making some pictures using the blocks and hammer set.

Alexander is being so cheeky. He has now learnt how to undo his zipper on his sleeping bag so I often come into his room after a sleep and find him like this.
I just love his laugh. Here he is playing with one of his stinky socks.
Daniel wanted to learn how to play Skip Bo (although he kept calling it Disco). He did pretty well and had fun playing it.
I love watching the kids interact with each other. The way that Alexander looks at Daniel and Eliza when he talks with them is just adorable. He squats down and looks up at them to chat.

We bought the kids scratch and sniff t-shirts which is so fun! Eliza's really smells like a sweet strawberry. Daniel's apparently smells like a doughnut. I don't think so but it's still fun.

The kids continue to love reading books.
Alexander has started to ask (in his own way) if his hands are clean at the end of a meal. He does it the same way that Eliza and Daniel do. It's amazing how much he takes in from them.

He has also started to do the cutest giggles.

Daniel's determination is frustrating sometimes and other times it is really rewarding. Tying shoe laces is on situation where it is rewarding. He has worked out how to do shoe laces on his own. He's very proud of himself, as are we. His preschool teachers have all been quite amazed too.
Daniel headed to a birthday party for one of his preschool friends. At the party there was an entertainer who also did face painting. Daniel was so patient waiting for his turn. At one point he took over a plate full of sushi to eat while he waited in line. Funny kid. They then did cake and then Daniel reminded the lady that she was going to paint his face. She asked him what he wanted and he decided on getting a butterfly like the birthday girl.
It was a Frozen themed party. When he got home he chose to make a snowman.

The following weekend we had preschool's Spring Fair. Eliza decided that she wanted to get her face painted and also chose a butterfly. It was amazing!!
The kids also made name necklaces.
Eliza came down with a random virus that made her body have high temps for 2 weeks as well as a crazy rash. It was quite scary at times, especially as we had no idea what it was (and still don't know what caused it). She handled it like a trooper though.

Daniel, Eliza and Alexander have started to play 'Ring a ring a roses' together. It is just too cute!

Eliza is loving dressing up in her Fairy Princess dress. She has also found that it twirls when she spins around.

This is how you use the tongs right?
With Eliza's rashes and also getting her injections she has been checked by doctors a few times. She decided that she needed to check Alexander's throat like the doctor. He was very obedient.
Alexander, say ahhhh.
When Nana and Poppy come around they are often stuck under one, two or three kids reading books.
For Auntie Jenny's birthday, Daniel wanted to make her cake. He was very proud and made most of it on his own. She was very appreciative of it too. He was very sad that he didn't get to decorate it because he started to get a cold. But was still happy with the final product.

We all had a lovely lunch celebrating Auntie Jenny. It was fun to see Oscar and Alexander dress the same, without even knowing.

While Eliza loves dressing up, Daniel feels a bit left out. He decided that he wanted to wear one of Eliza's dress up skirts so he could dance and spin around like her.

Alexander felt left out so wanted to join in the photo too.

The kids have enjoyed finding animals in the garden. They have gotten very good at catching tiger butterflies.

Daniel brought home some worms from preschool and had a great time playing with them with Eliza. He then dug a hole and put them in it in the garden.
Then at Oscar's place Daniel was keen to hold one of his crab pets. He liked having it crawl up his arm.
Eliza wasn't so keen to have him walk up her arm or on her hand. She was happy having the crab on her foot.
While playing outside Alexander made his own fun game of walking over the table that was turned upside how. He loved it!

He was so excited and happy running around, flapping his arms up and down as he ran around.
The Bob the Builder hat is also having another run.
Daniel has started to do more pretend play. He came into his little kitchen and started to make a coffee. He then pottered off into our room. I went in and saw him sit down at James' work desk with his little play keyboard. After a few minutes he went back to make another coffee and took it into the office. I asked him what he was doing. He said 'I made another coffee because my first one got cold so I needed to make a new one like Daddy.' I had a chuckle. Alexander then wanted to come and help work too - a little assistant who also likes drinking coffee.

Alexander really enjoys Play School nursery rhymes. It amazed me how much he remembers from library with the actions and retains. Here he is doing 'Incy Wincy Spider' and 'Dino Stomp'.

Alexander loves giving Plugger a cuddle when he walks in through the door.
Eliza wanted to have her hair dried like I do with the towel being up on her head.
Alexander enjoys doing head stands, and I noticed that he was doing them in his cot. Cheeky bubba.
Eliza just loves sitting with her Grayma when we catch up. They have a very special bond.
Alexander is at such a fun age with his babbling and chatter. No clue what he is saying half the time but he thinks he is so funny and makes perfect sense. Here he is having a chat with Daneil.
We went around to the Howie's place for TAT a couple of times. The kids had a lot of fun playing together.

Balloon fun for all
Alexander chatting with the turtles
Eliza cracks us up. She decided that she wanted to dress like a caterpillar (wearing her stripy clothes). She then proceeded to crawl along the ground like a caterpillar.
The kids are loving listening to Hot Potato Band. Daniel and Alexander heard it start to play and just had to run into the room to dance to it.
 Alexander loves bath time!

Love this cheeky guy.

He just loves helping to clean up too.
And he has the bestest giggles.
Daniel has also learnt how to click and is proud of it!
