Eliza has decided that her breastfeeding journey has come to an end. I am a bit sad by it but, like with when Daniel finished feeding, it will be helpful to just be feeding Beanie when they come in May.
Last Friday morning she started to have her morning feed but overheard James and Daniel having a conversation in the kitchen. Daniel was asking James if he could have a babychino. With this word, Eliza pulled off and started calling out 'babychino' and wouldn't reattach. James hadn't made enough milk for a babychino but she was happy to have some milk in the babychino cup.
Saturday morning James got Eliza up to watch some cars with him when she woke up. By the time I got up they were ready to start getting breakfast ready so she didn't ask me for some milk. We decided to just leave it as she hadn't asked.
Sunday morning I got her up but she didn't ask for milk and was happy to play. Normally she would cling to me until she had had some milk but not this time.
Since then she hasn't asked for any milk and we haven't offered it to her and it has been fine. I miss my special cuddles with her in the morning. I miss that special, quiet time with her, but I know that it was best and it was a special time that lasted 20 months which is great for her. She decided to finish up, not me, which is the way I would prefer it to go. So I get a 6 month break from feeding before Beanie comes who will hopefully enjoy breastfeeding like the other 2.
