Imaginative Play

Daniel continues to blow me away with his play, particularly imaginative play. He just keeps coming up with new ideas, things that he does regularly but he can change it to play situations. Previously he has done his shop (from Eliza's mobile), birthday candles (with his crayons).

Tuesdays are bin day and Daniel takes great delight watching the garbage truck with Nana and Poppy or myself. He has progressively moved closer to the end of the driveway and enjoys waving to the driver and gets excited if the driver beeps his horn or waves back to him. One day he pulled his balls out of the bag and started to pretend that it was a garbage bin. It was pretty cute to watch the process.

James often gives Daniel his bath at night. Daniel started to pretend that he was drinking coffee using his little cups. He then progressed to pretending that he was using a coffee machine. It is just so cute and creative.

Daniel loves playing church. He will get his guitar and play it, singing, then stop and pray and then start playing his guitar again. Sometimes he will walk onto 'stage', play his keyboard and then walk back off 'stage'. Again, something he just started doing on his own. I love that church is an important and impacting part of his life. I also love that in his prayer he asks God to help 'people and church settle down'. Classic!

This one is my favourite though. Daniel has pretended to breastfeed his doll, Christopher, and other times he has put Christopher into Eliza's cot and closed the door so that he can 'sleep' but the last couple of days he has started to do the full feed, bed routine. It is so cute to watch. He obviously has taken in what I do with Eliza. I love how he said to Christopher what we say to him at bedtime (Mummy loves you very much, Daddy loves you too and so does Eliza but God loves you more). Too cute!
