As part of the AFLW Swans matches, the girls at our club were invited to be junior mascots for the Swans as they ran onto the field at the SCG. We asked if Alexander could join in too and they said absolutely! We were already heading to the game, so it was cool to be able to join in in this special way.
They lined up and ran out holding hands with one of the Swans players. Eliza ran out with Cynthia Hamilton and Alexander ran out with Eliza Vale.
It was pretty cool to be sitting behind some of the girls while watching the game from the ladies stand.
Eliza and Alexander were super keen to get their faces painted again and Eliza also got her hair braided. She loved the hair braiding and it was good for me to see how they manage to get a ribbon into a hair braid.
At half time they were putting up pictures and videos advertising different things. Next thing we knew, there was Alexander's face up on the big screen! He was the poster boy for face painting! Very cool. He is pretty cute in the photo, but I might be biased.
It was a great atmosphere to be in at the game. The girls didn't end up winning but they did put in their best effort which is all you can ask for.
