Amazement Farm and Fun Park

To continue to enjoy the holiday fun James and I took the kids up the Central Coast to Amazement Farm and Fun Park. Ursh had taken her kids and posted about it on Facebook and it looked awesome! Mazes, farm animals, ride on train, pony rides, what more could you want? Alexander during lockdown said that he really wanted to go for a ride on a horse and I had been looking at different places where we could do it. Turns out it isn't easy to find so I decided this could be his 'horse/pony' ride. We love mazes and the fun that they bring and Eliza adores the animal petting places so it was going to appeal to everyone.

First up we headed into the Heart Maze. The kids loved running around it. It had a nice big muddy puddle in the middle of one of the ways (which you actually needed to head through to get to the middle) so we carefully stepping around the outside. I'm amazed that no kids fell into the mud!

Spot the kids

They had fun giant games so the kids enjoyed some 10 pin bowling.

We then headed over to the petting zoo. There were a choice between rabbits and guinea pigs. The kids each chose a rabbit. They enjoyed patting their soft fur, and Eliza especially loved holding them and cuddling them. She would so have a rabbit if I offered her one (but we won't!). Alexander amazed me with how well he did with the goats (after our time at Calmsley Hill City Farm where he hated being around the goats!). They were also able to bottle feed the goats which were very cute! Eliza had tears when we said we were going to head out of the petting zoo.

Focussed on their rabbits

The goats wanted attention too. They came to the right girl
Alexander swapped to a guinea pig that just wanted to hide

Daniel got to bottle feed some of the goats
Clearly some of the other goats weren't happy to miss out, and Daniel wasn't too happy that they jumped up on him. But he did pretty well and stayed mostly calm

Eliza was just happy patting and feeding the bunny.

I was amazed at this boy who was so happy to be around the goats this time after freaking out last time. He has grown so much in confidence.

Next up we headed over to another maze, stopping at the animal show. the kids got to see a ring-tailed possum - so so cute! And Eliza was very excited to pat a real life Randal.

Then we went and enjoyed another maze. Alexander was the first to find the middle this time.

We then headed over to our train ride. They have a little zoo set up with lions, emus and camels to see and you can also feed the camels and ostriches. A new experience for the kids and I was so proud of them for giving it a go!

Just wanting to be close to me. Couldn't sit next to me so put his hand on my legs for the train trip.

Walking emus

I love Daniel's face when feeding the camel!

James was brave enough to feed the ostrich. No way was I going to put my hand near it! That beak is way too scary! And such a messy eater too.
But Daniel decided to have a go too (with Dad's help). He did really well with keeping his hand flat and not pulling away (possibly because James wouldn't let him but still)

Looking at the lions as we travelled past them

We then headed back over to the alpacas to give them some of our food that we had left over.

On our way to the pony ride, the tea cups ride had opened up. The kids were keen to have a go. Everyone decided to stop the cups from spinning (a bit boring really) but they all had fun. James was done after that ride.

Then the kids lined up for their pony rides. The ponies were quite funny. One in particular (Eliza's one) was being very stubborn and refused to move multiple times. This meant that Alexander got to have a bit of a longer ride. The kids each enjoyed their ride. The did look so big on the little ponies though.

The kids then got to enjoy the Central Coast Eye (very similar to the London Eye).

We then went to explore the last maze. The kids got quite lost in this one but loved finding the surprise in the middle!

Winner! We found the middle and the Macaw who Daddy had fun playing with.

As we headed out of the maze we met the donkeys who we were able to pat.

And played some more giant games before we headed back to the car.

Amazement Park was a great place for us to go! We felt very covid safe the whole time, the kids had a blast doing each of the activities and we all got to enjoy some new experiences - feeding camels and ostriches. Definitely recommend it to others if they want a fun day out. We sure had lots of fun!
