Video catch up

I have given up on putting videos directly onto my blog. They don't seem to work and I have no idea why. Instead James has shown me how to put them onto YouTube and then I can link them to my blog so now I will hopefully blog more often with videos of Daniel and Eliza being gorgeous, growing and learning.

This blog post is basically going to be a batch of videos that I have taken over the time videos haven't been working. Hope you enjoy them.

Eliza has some pretty cute smiles. This video is from when we were in Hervey Bay, just hanging out on the back deck.

She has enjoyed playing with her mobile and is becoming much more intentional about reaching up and touching the different parts.

James has taught Daniel some little slogans. One of these is in honour of MC Hammer. After Daniel's had his dinner, when we ask him what it is time for he replies...

Daniel's personality is starting to come out a lot and I love it. He makes me laugh so much. He just randomly starts doing some things. One day when I was on the phone to Auntie Jenny, he randomly started to come up to me and 'ROAR'.
Daniel's started to say 'I love you' which is so cute. This video he is being a little bit hyper but it's still pretty sweet.
Daniel tends to make up his own games with the equipment and toys he already has. One day he started to use his red basket as a hoop and was throwing his afl ball and soccer ball into it. He is pretty good with his aim and with a little bit of a distance. Yay for a sporty boy.
Eliza started to become quite the chatter box. It has increased even more now to such a joyful sound, but early on it was a nice little babble.
Daniel is very good at saying grace before meals. He used to hold our hands when saying it but as he became more independent, he wanted to hold his own hands. He still will hold his own hands to say grace. It's pretty funny.
Eliza just loves her bouncer which is such a blessing, as it's a safe place off the floor from a busy toddler and she is able to follow me around the house while in it. She really enjoys sitting in it and is a pro at bouncing herself.
Previously in a post I mentioned that we got to see, sit in a fire engine and chat with some of the firemen. Here is Daniel's recount of it.
I posted about Daniel's birthday. Here are a couple of videos from the morning of his birthday. I just love his bed hair. He loved his birthday cards and his keyboard. The demo buttons and beats have had a lot of work outs. His dancing to the music is pretty cute too.

Eliza has developed her giggles. They started off being a bit confused with a small giggle and coughs with a big smile. I just love her happy face.
Eliza has accidentally rolled over a couple of times. Not heaps and not repeatedly. I think she has spent too much time in the bouncer because it's easier for me to place her there. I'm intentionally trying to give her more tummy time, but she just doesn't seem interested in rolling over. Anyway, this is one time when she looked like rolling over so I got my camera out. She did roll, eventually.

Daniel just adores Eliza. He enjoys giving her hugs and kisses. This is partly why I don't feel it's very safe for Eliza to spend a lot of time on the ground without me sitting right next to her. But it is sweet how much he wants to be around her.

As I mentioned before, Eliza has been developing her giggles. She is quite a happy bub when she feels like it (even thought she isn't a hugely smiley bub).

Daniel has been amazing me with what he is taking in from different conversations. When he is doing something wrong and has been given a chance, we have sat him down for a time out. This involves us sitting with him and counting to 30. Daniel has started to join in with the counting which is very cute and does make us giggle (although we try to hide the laughing from him). As a result, Daniel has learnt to count to 12. Here he is counting to 11 (then getting distracted).
We have practiced sitting on our bed a couple of times with Eliza. She has great neck strength, however, no stability so she doesn't really sit up. She looks rather shocked when she flops down.
Since Daniel's birthday he has enjoyed singing 'Happy Birthday' at random times. At one point in the middle of drawing he started to stand his crayons up and sing it. Then he pretended to blow them out like candles. I just love his imagination.
Eliza's chatting has increased. When she is in a happy mood she is quite a chatterbox. She will happily chat with others or even just chat with herself. The little cutie.
Like I mentioned in a previous blog post, Eliza has started to have rice cereal. Here is a video of her first time trying it. It was at the end of the meal though so she was a bit grizzly and over it.
The next day I videoed her having solids again and you can see she is happier having them. You can see that she still has the tongue thrust so isn't fully understanding how to eat it, but she sure is keen to have it.
Daniel has started to sing different nursery rhymes. Some are ones that we've sung at home, with the Play School CD, with different books but also songs he has listened to at the Library story time. While he hasn't sung them there, he is definitely taking it all in as this version of 'Row, row, row your boat' has only be done at the Library. He is pretty proud of himself when he's singing the songs. Twinkle, twinkle is another favourite to sing. He will even sing to Eliza if she is upset and I ask him to sing to her. So sweet!
Here is more of Eliza trying to sit. She is a little bit more stable, but not much.

Sorry for all the short snippets of the videos. They have been sitting in my folder waiting for the video to work. Now I hope to keep up with blogging again and posting videos of Daniel and his conversations and of Eliza as she is growing and developing different skills.
