Gross Motor Skills

It is awesome watching Daniel play now. He has just come along in leaps and bounds with his gross motor skills when playing with his toys.

We have been enjoying this beautiful winter weather by hanging outside after our morning nap. Some days we just go out and crawl around on the grass, other days we take out a ball and play with that. Daniel is getting good at passing the ball - we are trying to develop the correct handball pass, he has a bit of a way to go :-)
He has continued to enjoy going into the draws and pulling out different bowls and containers. His favourite seems to be some bowls for Nan which he enjoys banging together as it makes such a lovely noise.
He has also continued to use his couch to climb on it to get into mischief. This time the couch was infront of the chairs so he decided to climb up onto the chairs and boy oh boy was he very proud of himself!
Playing with his rings has always been a game of trying to balance the rings on his/my head or a game of pulling the rings off. This week he has started to be able to put the rings back on the stick. Again, he is very proud of his efforts! (and so am I!)
Tower building too is something that he has shown no interest in. Normally it involves me building the tower and Daniel knocking it down. However, this week he has started to be able to place the megablocks on top of each other (only one on top of another but still, that's an effort) and also building little towers with his cups.
Unfortunately it's a blurry photo, but he knocked the tower down straight after I took this rushed shot. He built the tower all on his own!
The last thing he has started doing is while reading his story 'I'm a little teapot' he is starting to try spinning the edge which turns around and does an action. He has obviously watched me doing it while reading and now he is having a go.

I'm so proud of his efforts and developments! I think it's the teacher in me, as well as being his mum but it is so wonderful to see and I can't wait to see what will come next!
