Preschool Orientation

At the end of last year James and I took Daniel to his preschool orientation. Next week he will start attending preschool 2 days a week, Monday and Tuesday. The Orientation day was raining so it changed to being inside the whole time. We were to have an hour for play and then an hour for lunch. Daniel was so excited to go which was great. Mum came around to look after Eliza for us so we could focus on Daniel. Most of his classmates were inside already when we got there.

Daniel went straight to the lego table and started to build with James.
He then moved onto the drawing table and did a few scribbles and then some circles. He told me that he was making a racing track.
He then saw some people doing some painting so he waited patiently and then had a turn. He did 2 paintings - one with stripes and one with circles. They had a very good set up for it.
He was then curious about a section that had buttons and dials. He sat there pretending to fly planes, work computers, be on the sound desk etc.
It was then lunchtime. Daniel washed his hands and then sat down on the ground in a circle with his classmates to eat. It was pretty cute watching them all sitting there. Daniel did pretty well with staying still although he did want to change where he was sitting halfway through. He also found a little train track that he started to build after lunch too. We then had to head back home as the 2 hours flew by. Daniel was so happy about being there and is very keen to head back. I hope he continues to love going to Preschool and that he makes some good friendships. His teachers seem lovely and the preschool itself seems to be very caring, taking that extra step in things like sending him a postcard last week to say they are excited to see him again. We will see how Monday week goes!

Beanie kicking

While we were in Hervey Bay I was lying in bed one morning while James was with the kids (who were having a bit of an emotional morning) and I was feeling Beanie kick. I started to watch my stomach and was able to see it moving around. It's so cool to feel it and to now see it moving. Can't wait to meet this little baby.
